The major of Electronic Information Engineering was established following the development of electronics, communication, information, and computer technologies. Based on mathematics, physics, and information theory, it focuses on the research of electronics, information, and related components, electronic systems, and information networks. With a complete basic theory, rich professional connotations, and a wide range of application fields, it has developed extremely rapidly and serves as a key major for promoting the development of the information industry and upgrading traditional industries.
The Electronic Information Engineering major of Yangtze University began enrolling students nationwide in 1997. In 2006, it was rated as a provincial-level undergraduate brand construction major in Hubei Province. In 2010, it was included in the talent cultivation plan project of the strategic emerging (pillar) industries in Hubei Province. In 2012, it was rated as a comprehensive pilot major for professional reform in undergraduate universities in Hubei Province. In 2013, it was rated as a major under the National Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program. In 2015, it started implementing the enrollment of the electronic information category, and in 2019, it was rated as a national first-class undergraduate major construction site. In 2022, it passed the national engineering education professional certification.
This major aims to cultivate high-quality engineering and technical talents who possess theoretical and professional knowledge in the field of signal processing and transmission, have good engineering literacy and innovation awareness, and are capable of engaging in design, development, production, application, maintenance, and management in related fields such as electronic information processing and transmission.
